So you want to take time off …

Let’s get right to the elephant in the room … yes, you are allowed to take time off as a business owner!

For some entrepreneurs, you may choose to work through the summer without breaks or vacations.

For others, you may want to take time off to go to the cottage or spend the summer with your kids or friends.

Or maybe you simply want some time to start a new Netflix series.

The best part? All of these options are awesome and achievable … why?

Because YOU own your own business

-- which means YOU are in control of how you choose to plan and run your business.

Unfortunately, many owners get caught up in the day-to-day grind. They lose track of time, exhaust themselves daily, and before you know it, the summer is gone.

So today, right here and now, I want you to pause and truly think about how you want to spend your summer.

Do you want to stop working each day at noon?

Take weekends off?

Or do you want to plan a week-long road trip or book a cottage?

If you yelled a resounding YES (even in your head), then allow yourself to make a plan and follow through!

If you scoffed at the thought of taking time off because of reason 1, 2 or 3, I’m here to tell you that you can have what you want.

You can take time off. BUT, you need to take time and plan it.

To the business owners feeling guilt or worrying about taking time off, I’m here to assure you – you are allowed to take time off.

You are allowed to take a break.

You are allowed to go have fun or nap or sing at concerts or go down the slide 10 times with your kids.

As business owners, there is this misconception that we must eat, breathe and sleep our businesses.

What happened to you starting a business to fulfill the dream of flexibility and building the life you want?

Entrepreneurship is a lifestyle.

It’s time for you to start defining your life the way you want.
