Being your own boss — it’s not just a career choice. It’s a lifestyle!

Entrepreneurship isn’t for everyone. It takes discipline, organization, planning, passion, vision, and courage. It requires a person to make decisions about unknown futures, hire the right people to join their team and encourage each person to invest their futures and beliefs in another person’s ideas, invest money into intangible marketing tactics with unpredictable results, and divide time unequally among the people and other passions in their life.

Being your own boss — it’s not a path to take lightly.

It is a lifestyle that will impact all aspects of your life. It is a constant learning experience that with the right support, guidance and community from the beginning, you can be unstoppable. It can be a phenomenal journey like no other that will take you places and provide freedoms and opportunities that your 9-5 job doesn’t have the ability to fulfill.

BUT … no one quite prepares you to be a business owner until you are IN IT and learning lessons on the fly -- good, bad and ugly.

And depending on how long you have been in it, you may feel stuck or overwhelmed. You may have stopped asking questions, lost your passion and drive because you are consumed and exhausted by the day-to-day with constant waves of questions about where to go next, what to do, and how to get there. The doubt, the overwhelm, the second-guessing --it starts to creep in.

That’s the moment - or parade of moments - you need to watch out for. When those limiting beliefs rise up, you need to PAUSE.

It is important to NOT get lost in the feelings of overwhelm and chaos. You may not be able to control your first thought, but you can control your second, third and fourth. You need to pause and reflect on where these thoughts came from, what is the opposite of those thoughts, and how will you move forward with plans and actions to overcome those limiting beliefs that are causing decision paralysis, anxiety, depression, and self-doubt.

Stop! Right now!

Pause for a few moments to show gratitude for all that you have, all that you have worked for, all that you have lost and learned along the way, and all that you have gained.

Look at the life and business you have built or want to build. Look at how amazing you are, look at what you have accomplished and look at what you plan to achieve in the next year. Get excited!

Keep going -- you’ve got this!
